Oman’s Leading Poultry Producer Ranked One of Top Five Companies of Mid-Cap Size
Muscat,18th July, 2011: A’Saffa Foods,Oman’s largest and most popular chicken producer has been ranked one of Oman’s”Best Performers” at the annual business awards organised by the country’sleading Arabic business magazine Alam al-Iktisaad Wal A’mal (AIWA) and heldunder the auspices of the Capital Market Authority.
Company Chief Executive Dr. Nasser Al Maully was presentedwith the award on behalf of A’Saffa Foods by H.E Dr.Rashid Bin Al Safi AlHuraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board at an event that gathered togetherbusiness leaders from the corporate sector across the Sultanate.
A’Saffa was one of five winners of companies listed on theMuscat Securities Market (MSM) in the Mid-Cap (market-cap between RO25 millionto RO75 million) category.
The winners were selected on the basis of their performanceon five key financial parameters including Revenue Growth, Net Profit Growth,Return on Average Assets, Return on Average Equity and Net Profit Margin in2010. The ranking process was done by Gulf Baader Capital Markets (GBCM) andthe results were validated by KPMG.
Commenting on the achievement, Chief Executive Dr. Nasser AlMaully said: “We are delighted to have received this award that reinforces thereputation of A’Saffa Foods as one of the best performing companies in Oman.
“Our successful growth strategy, investment in people and technologyhas helped to put us at the forefront of food producers in Oman with over 25per cent of the poultry market supported by new initiatives into other frozenfood products such as the Khayrat range of beef burgers and vegetables and ourplans to produce table eggs in the near future.”
In 2010 the company marked its change of name from A’SaffaPoultry to A’Saffa Foods with the introduction of the Khayrat brand which haslaunched a new range of beef burgers and frozen vegetables. A’Saffa Foods remains the market leader inchicken production in Oman with a market share of over 25 per cent that is steadily growing.
