The public sector in Oman has been given nine days off from work during Eid Al Adha.

Khaled Bin Hilal Bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and President Civil Service Board, announced Eid holidays for the government sector from November 5 to 9.

However, two weekends on both sides of the five-day Eid Al Adha holidays makes it a straight nine days off, from November 3 to 11, for the government and public sector in Oman. Shaikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bakri, Manpower Minister, has declared Eid Al Adha holidays from November 5 to 8.

With a lot of private sector companies observing Thursday-Friday as weekend, some of the private sector employees are likely to get six-days off from work.

The Central Bank is yet to announce holidays for the banking sector, which observes Friday-Saturday as a weekend.
