TEDxMuscat announces dynamic mash up of speakers

The excitement keeps building for TEDxMuscat as the organisers are pleased to announce the final speakers’ line-up at the second TEDxMuscat event being held on May 16 at the Millennium Resort Mussanah.

Organized around the theme ‘Passion for creation, the event promises to be a day of thought-provoking conversations with topics ranging from creative and entertaining media to solutions for people looking to augment human mobility, from turning ocean power into unlimited clean energy to new possibilities in cancer research as well as other fields including arts, environment and electric cars.
“Our speakers’ lineup is a mix of experts from various countries and disciplines that hardly ever cross paths but they all share similar long-term visions”, said Satyabrata Acharya, Host and Curator of TEDxMuscat. “Each one of them will be donating some of their time, as leaders in their fields, to spread knowledge and ideas with the goal of advancing conversation. That’s what TEDx is all about”.
The eclectic roster of speakers will include: Abdullah Al-Zakwani, Executive Director of the Industrial Innovation Centre of Oman, Resul Pookutty, winner of an Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for the film Slumdog Millionaire, Dr. Adhra Al Mawali, Chief of Medical Laboratory Science at Royal Hospital, Eythor Bender, Ekso Bionics’ CEO, Sultan Al Amry, designer and manufacturer of electric cars, Suleiman Bakhit, founder and CEO of Aranim Media Factory, Niels and Keld Hansen, inventors of Wave Star power concept, Shayma Al Mughairy, the world famous 16 year old Omani sand artist, and Mustafa Al Baraimi, environmental researcher.
Roopesh Bhatnagar and Arun Raj, the event organizers both commented: “TEDxMuscat 2012 keynote speakers are at the top of their respective fields and they are going to be sharing their own unique stories, experiences and findings with the attendees throughout the whole day. We are thrilled to have another opportunity to create a truly unique experience that will unleash new ideas, inspire, inform and positively affect others in our community”.
