By staff - Fri Oct 19, 7:02 pm

Eid Al Adha holidays for public sector workers in the UAE will start on Thursday, October 25 and end on Sunday, October 28, Emirati news agency WAM reported.

The announcement comes after Dubai’s Grand Mufti officially declared that the 9th day of the Hejira month of Dhu Al Hijja, also known as Waqfat Arafat, will fall on October 25.

Public sector employees shall resume work on Monday, October 29, the report added.

Private sector employees will get three days off from Thursday, October 25, to Saturday October 27, with work resuming on Sunday, October 28.

Eid Al Adha is the second Muslim celebration of the year after Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. It coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage where millions of Muslims embark on a journey to Mecca.
